About the Class: This will be a fun, bonding experience for you and your birth partner and you will both take away many practical pain coping tools for labor and birth!
This 3-our class will present a realistic approach on how to work with the intensity and hard work of labor & birth. The stages of labor & birth will be discussed and what you and your partner can ‘do’ during each phase. You will learn the following pain coping strategies:
– Yoga poses and labor & birth positions
– Breathing techniques
– Birth ball exercises
– Relaxation techniques
Each couple will leave with many invaluable hand-outs. I will present you with a centering meditation to connect with the baby and a guided visualization to help both of you prepare for your ideal, most wonderful, blessed birth.
There will be a lot of practical hands-on practice. No yoga experience is necessary. It is recommended couples attend this class in the third trimester of their pregnancy, but couples in any stage of pregnancy are welcome any time. This class is great for first time parents wanting to add yoga wisdom to their other childbirth prep classes, as well, as current parents wanting a refresher class.
